Attention Blanche River Anglers

The North Bay and Kirkland Lake Districts of the Ministry of Natural Resources are conducting an angler survey (Creel Survey) on the Blanche River, beginning May 20th and ending June 11th, 2006.

The objective of this survey is to gather information from anglers in order to obtain:
• Total estimated catch and harvest of fish species.
• Total estimated fishing pressure.
• Estimates of size and age composition and condition of the fish community.

The surveyors may be asking permission to weigh and measure your fish, as well as asking questions of anglers regarding total hours fished, number of fish caught and / or released, preferred species, etc. The cooperation of all anglers is requested, since the effective management of your natural resources depends on contributions made by all.

In the early spring of 2006, a number of walleye and sauger were tagged within Lake Temiskaming. If you encounter a fish with a tag in its jaw, please report it to the MNR at one of the numbers below with the date and location of the catch. Participants reporting valid tag numbers will receive an angler cooperator hat.

Through accurate assessment of the Blanche River fishery the Ministry of Natural Resources will be confident in implementing sound management decisions in the future.

We thank you in advance for participating in this valuable endeavor and your cooperation is appreciated.
